Caterpillar has enhanced its AccuGrade grade control system for dozers, graders and excavators to include Sky Plot, which allows the machine operator to view available GPS and GLONASS satellites when using the MS980 or MS990 receivers.

On hydraulic excavators, the CD700 now displays the profile and cross-section views simultaneously so that all critical dimensions are in view and it also supports site and laser reference, which can be used when GPS is not available. It also has excavator bucket centre guidance, which improves accuracy when working on side slopes.

Additional blade sensors on motor graders eliminate the need to keep the mast vertical when using GPS or UTS and means the operator can maintain accuracy when rolling the blade. An entry level, indicate-only system using a single, cab-mounted GPS antenna is now available for the D8T, D9T and D10T dozers undertaking earthmoving and early site preparation tasks.
