GPS Networks & Services to reach $504m US by 2013

BRISBANE, Australia – March 17, 2009 – The world-wide value of GPS Networks and Services is forecast to rise from US$ 263 Million in 2009 to US$ 504 Million by 2013 according to a new report by Position One Consulting. The report is authored by Rob Lorimer and Eric Gakstatter and includes global trends and demand for precision GNSS Augmentation Infrastructure and Services including CORS, RTK Networks, RTK Clusters, SBAS and DGPS.

At the core of the 130 page report are five year growth and financial projections with optimistic, realistic and conservative scenarios to reflect current macro economic uncertainties.
“The adoption of precision GNSS products and services, particularly for machine control, are reaping impressive productivity gains for users”, said Rob Lorimer, Managing Director of Position One Consulting, “many are opting to consume precise positioning services rather than operate their own reference stations and this report analyzes that trend”.
The report covers background and status for the entire spectrum of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) including GPS, GPS modernization, GLONASS and GLONASS modernization, SBAS (Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems), Galileo and Compass/Beidou, QZSS and IRNSS as well as technology/market trends and potential disruptions.

The report was introduced at the Munich Satellite Conference, March 3-5, 2009.
