Case IH Enhances Sprayer Lineup with Patriot 3230
Written by PR Newswire
Monday, 24 August 2009

Racine, Wis. (PRWEB) August 20, 2009 -- With the introduction of the new Patriot 3230 sprayer, Case IH offers farmers and custom applicators alike the timely and accurate performance of its larger Patriot sprayers in an 800-gallon configuration. This hardworking addition to the Patriot line will make its debut at the Midwest Ag Industries Exposition (MAGIE) in Bloomington, Illinois, August 19-20.

With a new 6.7L engine and available AFS AccuGuide precision control in addition to its Case IH Patriot cab forward, rear engine design, the Case IH Patriot 3230 sets the industry standard for performance and productivity in the 800-gallon sprayer market.
With a new 6.7L engine and available AFS AccuGuide precision control in addition to its Case IH Patriot cab forward, rear engine design, the Case IH Patriot 3230 sets the industry standard for performance and productivity in the 800-gallon sprayer market.

"Because of the Case IH cab-forward, rear-engine configuration, Patriot sprayers are designed to get you in the field sooner - in any field condition - and this new 800-gallon machine offers an even greater advantage with a lighter overall footprint," says Ken Lehmann, Case IH application equipment marketing manager. "The balanced weight distribution and light footprint of the Patriot ensures operators can get in the field when competitive machines cannot. During critical application windows that impact yields, our sprayers can get into tough terrain without damaging crops or creating ruts."

Although the 3230 will be the smallest of the Patriot sprayers, there's nothing small about its capabilities. Case IH powers the Patriot 3230 sprayer with a new 6.7-liter electronically controlled diesel engine, rated at 220 horsepower. This turbocharged, aftercooled powerplant puts out 752 foot-pounds of peak torque.

The same design DNA
All Case IH Patriot sprayers offer superior control of product application with multiple features that contribute to spray performance such as precision control of boom height, rapid changes in spray nozzle rate, GPS-guided boom-section control, and even fully automated steering for the ultimate in convenience and accuracy.

"This new sprayer shares the same design DNA as the larger Patriot sprayers," Lehmann explains. "That means a smoother ride for operators, more acres sprayed every season and better application accuracy in the field."

In addition to product tank capacity, the tank configuration and material also distinguish the 3230. It is equipped with a compact, space-saving elliptical product tank available in either stainless steel or poly construction. The 3230 tank has a rated capacity of 800 U.S. gallons with a 5 percent overflow capacity for a total volume of 843 U.S. gallons for the poly tank and 850 U.S. gallons for the stainless steel tank.

Patriot 3230 sprayer operators will enjoy a Case IH Surveyor cab with all the same operator amenities found in the cabs of larger Patriot sprayers, Magnum and Steiger tractors and Axial-Flow combines.

"Sprayer operators put in a lot of hours in the course of a day, week or season - they need to be as comfortable and efficient as possible during their time in the cab," says Lehmann.

In addition, because of the Patriot cab-forward design, line-of-sight visibility from the cab of the Patriot 3230 is unmatched because there is no engine hood or chassis suspension to look over or around when traveling down the field or maneuvering around obstacles.

Precision Ag Options
The Patriot 3230 sprayer is also available with the Case IH AFS AccuGuide ready option. When equipped with Case IH autoguidance, operators are more efficient because automated steering reduces stress and lets operators concentrate on application rather than steering. And by reducing the number of "skips" and "overlaps," AFS AccuGuide saves on fuel and chemical input costs.

The AFS AccuGuide Ready option offers "plug 'n' play" autoguidance readiness for use with the AFS Pro 600 display, the AFS 262 GPS receiver and the Navigation II controller. These three components are also used on other Case IH equipment for guidance, machine control or monitoring and can be easily moved from one piece of machinery to another. That way, owners can keep their overall investment in guidance and precision farming technology to a minimum while boosting productivity to the maximum.

Users can also choose the AIM Command spray system. It is a patented innovation in spray technology that multiplies the utility of a standard chemical boom, providing precise spray with complete control. The system offers a 2 to 24 GPA range with constant pressure independent of speed, with near instantaneous ability to switch rates while using a single nozzle tip.

A positive impact
"With the introduction of the Patriot 3230 sprayer, Case IH has set a new standard in the 800-gallon sprayer market," concludes Lehmann. "This is a new look for smaller Case IH sprayers, and it offers many performance enhancements and operator comforts previously available only on the larger machines. The Patriot 3230 with cab forward design is perfect for anyone who wants all the performance of our largest sprayers on a slightly smaller scale."
