HITACHI Construction Machinery Australia has released five models within the new John Deere G Series motor graders, designed to satisfy both operators and service personnel.
According to Hitachi, the models are designed and built by John Deere in the US. The five models in the G Series include the tandem drive 670G and 770G, and the six wheel drive 672G, 772G and 872G. All models are available in either a standard (G) or Grade Pro (GP) configuration.
Hitachi says the G Series lets the operator decide how the work gets done with the option of controlling the unit from traditional mechanical levers, or with the new Grade Pro system with eight armrest-mounted fingertip levers.
The 672, 772 and 872 models in both configurations feature six wheel drive. This allows the operator to set the front wheels to turn at the same speed, faster or slower than the rear tandems.
The G Series is said to use the smoothest shifting powershift transmission on the market. With Event Based Shifting it senses the load on the engine, as well as other inputs, to determine the optimum shift time when the operator selects a new gear.
