BW 161 AD-40   Our power- packed "all-round" model

The BW 161 AD-40 articulated tandem roller in the 10 t class uses successful technology from the BOMAG "4th" series. Popular features have been united in one design which can handle difficult conditions, on medium and large works. This includes inner-city construction, and road projects requiring high surface finish. This unit features first-class compaction performance, a reliable, powerful Deutz diesel engine (exhaust emission stage III A / Tier III) and efficient hydraulics using components from renowned manufacturers. Economy of use played a major part in the development of this roller. This is apparent with long service intervals, proven reliability, economical and eco-friendly engine technology, large water tanks with a water saving feature and high resale value.

BW 25 RH – traditional compaction with hydrostatic drive

For compaction on earthworks and asphalt, stabilised soils or coated chippings for surface treatment, the static BW 25 RH pneumatic tyred roller is the roller of choice. With a wheel load of more than 3 t and maximum ballast, this unit can achieve optimum depth on thicker layers of earthworks and asphalt, and produces outstanding surface sealing with its kneading and rolling effect. The standard central tyre inflation system ensures optimum tyre pressure. Great surface performance, high travel speeds and a wide range of weights from 8.3 to 25.1 t give economical compaction. This roller is popular with operators with its modern hydrostatic drive and sensitive control.  Safety is prioritised at BOMAG: this roller has separate high-performance braking with its own cooling circuit.

BW 212 D-40 – the modern classic

BOMAG BW 212 - in many regions this is the epitome of the single drum roller. The BW 212 D-40 continues the 30 year success story of its predecessors. The BW 212 D-40 is a multi-purpose machine with an operating weight of around 11 t and can be used universally for soil compaction. The "212" can be adapted to user requirements using many option choices. Different ballast, drum thicknesses, amplitudes and scrapers are available. BOMAG cooling under a robust steel plate hood remains unsurpassed and ensures working capacity at full load even if outside temperatures reach 55° in the hottest regions of the world.  The Deutz engine (exhaust emission stage II) features low fuel and lubricant consumption with its mechanical control system. The –40 series features BOMAG Easy Service: no grease nipples, easy access and standardised consumables. BOMAG provides maximum up-time, long service life and high resale value – the traditional features on the BW 212.

Yet the BW 212 D-40 makes no compromise on performance. The unit is equipped as standard with an encased dual amplitude exciter and powerful travel system. Drum drive, no-spin rear axle with up to 100 % locking ratio and two-stage travel system give uninterrupted forward drive.

BW 218 D-40 – cutting more costs

The BOMAG BW 218 D-40 will be displayed for the first time at bauma. This single drum roller has been chalking up success since the beginning of production in summer 2009. The BW 218 D-40 is outstanding in terms of price-performance and brings the success of the -40 single drum series into the heavyweight class. The 18 t operating weight increases productivity in comparison to lighter units.

Fewer passes and thicker layers cut costs for users. At the same time, the BW 218 D-40 is highly manoeuvrable.  This heaviest model in the –40 series also features BOMAG Easy Service: no grease nipples. All bearings are maintenance-free and sealed for life, excluding the possibility of contamination during lubrication. The BW 218 D-40 also uses stage II engines from Deutz: robust, tough, service friendly and economical.

More advantages of the –40 concept are its numerous options. For example, the BW 218 D-40 can also be fitted with innovative BOMAG measuring technology: from a simple round gauge to printers and an integrated PC BCM 05 touchscreen with GPS receiver for complete compaction maps.
