RECOVERY – THIS ACQUISITION IS FUNDED BY THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the construction of a new Consolidated Logistics Facility to co-locate warehouse functions that are currently in two separate locations. The construction work includes renovation of existing spaces and new building construction. The renovation will include part of the existing storeroom in Building 301 for offices for the Administrative Services Division, chemical storage and cylinder storage. Additionally a new 20,000 (approximately) square foot hi-bay warehouse will be constructed along with a 20,000 square foot paved lay-down area for storage. Half of the lay-down area will be covered, while half of it will be fenced.
THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES (NAICS 236220 WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF $33.5M).
This solicitation includes the base requirement for construction with ten (10) options, to include, 1. A rack system (internal); 2. An office suite; 3. An enclosed lay down area; 4. Locker Rooms; 5. A mezzanine addition; 6. A concrete upgrade lay-down; 7. A modular office; 8. A rack system (exterior); 9. A hard drive shredder; and 10. A fork lift.
The period of performance (including the options) is 455 days (approximately 15 months) from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Detailed specifications and drawings will be issued with the solicitation. The magnitude of construction for the entire project is between $5M and $10M.

Contract award will be made to the lowest priced technically acceptable offer. The solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about April 2, 2010 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract.
