Carlson Grade Supervisor 2.0 Just Released
Written by Carlson Software, Inc.

3D GPS Site Management New and Improved for Grade Checkers, Supervisors and Site Inspectors

MAYSVILLE, Kentucky (August 24, 2010) – In the just released version 2.0 of Grade Supervisor, Carlson Software has increased the capabilities of this software designed for site grade and surface management, while keeping its popular ease-of-use, affordability, and flexibility.

Among the top additions to Grade Supervisor 2.0 is its NTRIP-compatibility with most networks, which eliminates the need for a separate base station and represents a substantial savings. Other top improvements include:

  • On-demand, video support within the controller;
  • Ability to manage layers;
  • Option to change Radio Channels;
  • Direct import of .dwg, .dxf, tn3, ln3, gc3, grd, tin & more – no desktop software required;
  • In-field, 3D Volume Calcs with PDF graphical report output;
  • Density/AUF Reports for Landfills; and
  • Works between and with multiple brands of GNSS receivers.

“Grade Supervisor serves as a bridge, if you will, supporting most GNSS receivers including models from Ashtech, Topcon, JAVAD GNSS, Leica and Trimble,” says Randy Noland, vice president of Carlson Positioning & Machine Control. “By supporting many receiver brands and file types, Grade Supervisor provides all the infield calculations a site supervisor demands while streamlining workflow, sometimes between systems that are not compatible with one another.”

Carlson Grade Supervisor is designed to allow supervisors to get daily, weekly, or anytime volumes, track real-time cut/fill, plus both collect and stake points. Its ability to let grade contractors know their grade instantly means that accurate surface volumes can be determined with Grade Supervisor.

“Using Grade Supervisor is proven to help construction companies tighten their bid specs by providing fast TOPO capabilities so that volumes are computed for estimation before any dirt is moved,” adds Noland. “You can configure between the rod and truck with just one button.”

Windows XP & Windows 7 compatible, Grade Supervisor 2.0 is designed for both man and machine, working on the pole or in a vehicle and moving seamlessly from man rover (GPS pole) to monitor rover (pickup/ATV).

Available now, Grade Supervisor is made to be used on its own or with other Carlson machine control products including Carlson Grade, Drill Grade and Landfill Grade. Grade Supervisor is also compatible with Carlson Construction, premiere model building software.
