New MOBA Company now created in the United Kingdom

Limburg, Germany, September 2010.

By establishing a new subsidiary company in the UK, MOBA Mobile Automation Ltd., the MOBA Group confirms the importance of this exciting market place in their long term business development plans.

This new development brings MOBA as close as possible to all aspects of business opportunity in the UK, whether with their existing OEM partners and existing dealers, or with all potential new end-user customers and dealers.

UK customers will now be supported directly and locally for every aspect of business development – technical support, logistics, sales, service, installation, fulfilment, etc. This dedicated support brings a level of commercial relationship development not yet experienced in the UK from MOBA.

MOBA Mobile Automation Ltd. is located with excellent transport links to the majority of the UK, whilst being close to the two largest population centres, greater London and greater Birmingham. The new company is focussing on two main sectors of the MOBA Group business portfolio – Construction/Access and Waste/ Weighing. The main thrusts of the venture are to obtain maximum new and organically grow existing business, in a sustainable manner.

Alastair R Brown is the Managing Director of the new organisation, additionally leading the Construction/Access business development. He joins MOBA following senior roles with Trimble, Leica-Geosystems, Hilti AG and various consultancies.

Ian Lewis takes on the role of Business Development Manager for the Waste/Weighing sector. He brings a wealth of in-depth experience and exposure, gained with Revere Transducers Europe, Tatem Group plc, Huntleigh Technology and other weighing and sensor specialists.

Alastair is already recruiting for additional identified roles.

MOBA Mobile Automation AG is one of the leading international producers of sensor technology, measurement engineering, control and feedback control systems as well as weighing and identification systems for mobile applications e.g. in construction machinery, cranes and lifting platforms, municipal community vehicles and agricultural machinery. In the last ten years the MOBA Group was able to increase its turnover from 14.6 million Euros (1999) to 37.9 million Euros (2009). At the same time it expanded its workforce from 123 employees to approximately 300 employees. MOBA was founded by Paul Harms in 1972 as an engineering office in Steinbach near Limburg, Germany. Today the company is an internationally accepted system specialist and OEM manufacturer.
