Welcome to the July 2010 edition of our eNewsletter.
I hope you had a very relaxing 4th of July!
As I was preparing this newsletter, my world was in chaos. Okay, that's a bit of an overstatement, but three movers were packing everything around me, and loading the truck with the last thing to be disassembled, my home office. My wife and I bought a new home 5 hours north and the move took place over the weekend. Cross-country moves are always fun!
The heat of the summer has brought us several new product announcements. JAVAD GNSS has released the new Triumph VS. Javad's presentation movie is featured as our Video of the Week below. Hemisphere GPS announced the release of the Crescent Vector II OEM GNSS board and range of GPS compass products, and Carlson Software has released its new all-in-one, Surveyor+GPS handheld with SurvCE software. It is great to see such innovative activity and I'm sure there will be more to come from Topcon, Ashtech, Trimble, Leica, MOBA and others in the coming months.
We have six new articles from our exclusive MachineControlOnline authors, which you can check out by scrolling down. Also we have updated our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) article for 2010.
We continue to hear from our readers about new projects and bidding opportunities. If you are considering positioning and 3D machine control technology, welcome. MachineControlOnline.com is committed to serve as your knowledge base.
I hope you enjoy this newsletter! Please stay tuned, visiting us often as we update the website daily. As always, please drop me a line if there is any subject about which you would like to see more information. I personally read every email! |

Software Review - Trimble Business Center by Marco Cecala: -When the whole 3D game started Trimble's Terramodel was about the best game in town. Many of us old timers got used to the product and how to make it work for the specific purpose of producing 3D data for machine control. Time marches on and the engine Terramodel is built on is dated and would need an …

Rin Tin Tin!
by Ron Ciccarone, LS: – This article does not have anything to do with dogs. Continuing with our review of issues when developing tin surfaces, one of the very common processes is to create a TIN from contours.
