Welcome to the end of summer and the next edition of our eNewsletter. I hope you have survived the brutal heat this summer without too much wear and tear!
As mentioned in the last newsletter, and shown below, I just returned from a speaking engagement in Eugene, Oregon where I participated in the Oregon DOT's "Design to Dozer" two-day seminar. You can check out our flickr pics HERE.
Ron Singh, ODOT's Chief of Surveys, led the event and with 140 attendees on Tuesday and 110 on Wednesday, everybody considered it to be a success. "We want to raise awareness of the benefits 3D machine control and positioning technology provides," says Ron. "I have been a proponent for many years and although adoption has lagged, I believe it is here to stay."
ODOT is talking about holding a follow-up classroom version sometime this winter that will drill deeper into digital workflow and processes across the design-build lifecycle. I will be writing a more detailed article in our September newsletter as well as producing a video of the sights and sounds from the event.
I am happy to promote these educational events and believe they are of huge value. If your DOT or other organization wishes to promote a similar event, please contact me at editor@machinecontrolonline.com.
In case you didn't check 'em out in the last issue, we again have the articles from our exclusive MachineControlOnline authors, which you can see by scrolling down. I hope you'll find value for your business. If you are considering positioning and 3D machine control technology, welcome. MachineControlOnline.com is committed to serving as your knowledge base.
As always, I hope you enjoy this newsletter! Please stay tuned, visiting us often as we update the website daily. Please drop me a line if there is any subject about which you would like to see more information. I personally read every email! |

Offshore Machine Control by Nigel Adams: – The majority of machine control articles in the press and associated advertising literature focus on land based civil construction applications.
